Lauren Fleshman Makes 5K Finals on 10 Miles a Week!

Lauren is probably not going to make the Olympic team, but what she is doing is simply amazing. She ran 15:51 on sprinting 10 miles a week, swimming, and elipical training. Check out the insightful interview on Flotrack with this amazing athlete, along with other great Olympic Trials coverage (Alan Webb just got his butt kicked but cannot wipe the smile off his face- new baby any day!)

Rupp and Webb to Race This Weekend!

An experiment that could change the destiny of American distance running will begin Thursday morning in downtown San Jose.

And I thought they were going to mention the fact that Rupp and Webb were actually planning to race more frequently, but that's not it. Rupp has increased his weekly mileage- as if that's never been tried before.

Alan Webb Headed to Oregon

Alan Webb, the American record holder for the mile, is headed to Oregon to work under distance coach Alberto Salazar. usatoday.com

Prefontaine Classic
MY COMMENT: Webb has been in a slump going on 2 years now, so it's time for a change in scenery. Clearly Salazar thinks along the lines what others have been speculating for some time- "He won't touch a weight for the first six months. He has to lean out." I have just 2 questions- what did Webb weigh when he ran 3:46 and what does he weigh now (his bio on the USATF website lists Webb at 5'9" and 145 lbs.)?
